Physical Therapy

Karen Donelson

Working with me as a Physical Therapy patient is a dynamic process. I believe in quality care and work individually with you for 45 minutes to one hour. Patients rarely require more than one session per week unless it is an intense situation. I will not use any traditional passive modalities such as hot packs or electrical stimulation. I will use many different facets of movement to reduce inflammation, pain and issues associated with your condition.

 

Our work together will be collaborative and will alternate between activities and exercises, which are active as well as passive bodywork.

I will help you learn the difference between ease, effort, strain and pain. Using these distinctions will help you improve faster and are the basis for healthy movement Injured or chronic areas of the body will feel better if they are an integrated component of action.

You will receive an individually based home exercise program based on your present condition. Your exercise program will progress as you improve. Your program will address other conditions that I feel impact on your current situation. I will evaluate you from a holistic perceptive.

 

I feel that utilizing your skeleton for support is the major component in balance, reducing injuries and performing at your highest level. Skeletal support is a component of movement and is not perfect posture. Life is about movement.
