| Moshe Feldenkrais (PHD), was a scientist, engineer, and martial arts expert. His studies in neuroscience, kinesiology and human development resulted in his developing The Feldenkrais Method® of Somatic education. The method is not based upon one hypothesis or idea. This method connects what is known about the musculoskeletal and nervous systems to improve function.

Awareness through Movement® is one of the components of the Feldenkrais Method®. Each ATM® is referred to as a lesson and each develops a movement motif or particular function into a whole body action. Examples for lessons would include everything from learning how to utilize your breath with your movement, using your eyes effectively and being able to use your core as the force generator for moving your arms and legs. Many people talk about the significance of the core or our trunk muscles. Kinesiologically, we know that this is the area where the muscles and joints are the largest meaning that they contribute a greater proportion of the work force during movement.
ATM® helps you gain mastery and efficiency by learning how to move from your core efficiently without holding. |

Functional Integration® is the hands- on bodywork component of the Feldenkrais Method®. This component helps identify personal patterns of self-use that may not be working optimally. With you passively resting on the table, I will move your body to show you with touch other movement options that will allow you to move with less pain, greater ease and maximal possibility.

| People come to this kind of work because they have pain, chronic conditions, and acute injuries or to improve their ability to perform some activity.

| The Feldenkrais experience is one that generally leaves you feeling relaxed yet more alive.
